Chicago Summer Challenge
(June 24-25, 2017)
On Thursday, June 22nd, 2017, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour traveled to Chicago, Illinois to host the Chicago Summer Challenge at the beautiful Randall Oaks Golf Club. We would like to thank the Randall Oaks Golf Club for allowing us to host such a wonderful tournament at their facility. The players endured a high of 89 degrees on both Saturday and Sunday, with only blue skies and a hint of morning wind. Aside from getting the best weather a golfer could ask for, players stepped up to the challenge of Randall Golf Course and gave it everything they had. Boys 16-18
JP Anderson, from Algonquin, Illinois was the winner of the Boys 16-18 division. He shot a 70 1st round, and a 75 2nd round, for a total of 145. The second place finisher was Alex Kim from Lincolnshire, Illinois. The 1st round he shot a 77, and a 76 the second round for a total of 153. The third place was awarded to Zarling Solomon from West Bend, WI. He shot a 77 the 1st round, and a 78 the second round for a total of 155. All of these boys demonstrated great skill while accomplishing a very difficult course. Boys 14-15
Blake Behrens from Clinton, IA won 1st place in the Boys 14-15 division. Blake played very consistently by shooting an 83 on both days of the tournament for a 166 total. Andrew Schafer from Kalamazoo, MI placed 2nd in this division. He shot a 91 first round and 88 second round for a total of 179. Tying Andrew for second was Zachary Sutter, from Elmhurst, Illinois. He shot a 92 first round and 87 second round for a total of 179. A job well done to all of these boys. Boys 11-13
Pierce Grieve from Lake Forest, Illinois took home 1st place in the Boys 11-13 division. Pierce shot a 77 first round, 81 second round for a total of 158. Jackson Hulsey, from Saint Charles, Illinois took second place with an 83 first round, 81 second round for a total of 164. Third place went to Henry Reiland of Chicago, Illinois. He shot an 89 first round and 79 second round for a total of 168. These boys showed maturity beyond their years attacking this difficult golf course. Girls 14-18
Drishti Karumbaya from Mysore, KA took first place in the Girls 14-18 division. She shot an 82 first round, and a very impressive 73 second round for a total of 155 on the weekend. Second place went to Savannah Weyrauch, from Bloomington, Illinois. She shot an 83 first round and and 81 second round for a total of 164. Third place went to Nicole Jordan, from Saint Charles, Illinois. She shot an 82 first round and a 85 second round for a total of 167. These girls demonstrated great skill and sportsmanship during this tournament. Girls 13U
The winner of the Girls 13U division was Ella Greenberg, from Rockford, Illinois. She shot an 84 first round and an 83 second round for a total of 167. Second place went to Kathryn Schafer, from Rockford, Illinois. She shot a 90 first round and an 89 second round for a total of 179. Third place went to Evie Greenberg , from Rockford, Illinois. She shot a 101 first round, second round she shot an 89, for a total of 190. These girls demonstrated excellent poise while battling this course. Boys U10
The winner of this division was Sam Carraher, from Crown Point, Indiana. He shot a 85 first round, and an 83 second round for a total of 168 on the weekend. Thank you Sam for coming out and competing with us. It was great the watch you dominate the course.

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In 2017, we have now expanded to the west coast and cover California, Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon.
