The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour will be heading north to Georgia April 6-7 for the Chateau Elan Junior Shootout. The event will be hosted by the Chateau Elan Golf Club in Braselton, GA. This will be a very competitive field with a lot at stake for the players. Winners of both the boy’s and girl’s 15-18 age divisions will be rewarded with four AJGA performance stars which will grant them an exemption into an AJGA event. Winners of all four divisions will receive an automatic bid for the 2013 Tour Championship and a free pair of golf shoes courtesy of Kikkor Shoes. Top ten finishers in all divisions will receive points towards year-end honors including All-HJGT Teams and the Hurricane Cup. South Carolina Junior Golf Association Heritage Points will also be up for grabs. This event will be ranked by the Junior Golf Scoreboard. The event will be a two day event consisting of 36 holes of stroke play. Both Saturday and Sunday will be shotgun starts beginning at 9:30 am. Registration will be on Saturday preceding the round from 7:30 am- 9:30am. There will be four age divisions in this tournament: boy’s 15-18, girl’s 15-18, boy’s 11-14, and girl’s 11-14. Top three finishers in all divisions, the players with the most birdies, and the players with the most improved scores from day-one to day-two will all receive awards. The awards ceremony will take place at approximately 2:30 pm. The registration fee for members is $179 and for non-members is $199. Register online at www.hjgt.org. The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2008 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of four age divisions: Boys 15-18, Boys 11-14, Girls 15-18 and Girls 11-14. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, and Ohio.
