Central Florida Junior Classic

(April 1-2nd, 2017)

  On April 1-2  the  the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour hosted the Central Florida Junior Classic at the Red Trail Golf Course in Sorrento, Florida. There was a little clouds in the ski but for the  most part it was sunny and no rain in the forecast. The HJGT would like to thank the staff of the Red Trail Golf Course for allowing us to host and participate at a wonderful venue. Players were able to participate for Junior Golf Scoreboard points in divisions that included five or more competitors.  Hurricane points were also available for grabs, and a chance to qualify for invitationals as well as the National Championship.     Boys 16-18 Division

Thongpipat Rattanayanon fromThailand was the champion of the Boys 16-18 Bivision. Rattanayanon was able to lock up the first place position after shooting an impressive 73 on the first day. On the second day Rattanayanon shot a 71 for the score of 144. Chase Nowicki form Windermere, FL was able to lock up second place after shooting a impressive 73 both days. Nowicki took home a second place trophy after shooting a score of 146 for both days. The third place trophy was awarded to Johnny Bai for Lake Mary, FL . Bai was able to shot a 71 for the first round and 75 for the final day.       Boys 14-15 Division

Aaron Du form Lake Mary Florida, was the champion of the Boys 14-15 Division. Du took home the champion hardware by shooting a 69 both days. Carson Bacha from, York, Pennsylvania was able to take home the second place trophy after shooting 70 for both days and a total of 140. The third place trophy went to Jimin Jung of Briarcliff Manor, New York. Jung finished off the tournament with a total score of 147. Jimin Jung was in a three way tie for third place and the other player there tie with Jimin Jung were Tony Chen and Kelvin Si, who all shot an overall score of 147.   Boys 11-13 Division

Luke Lyu of Orlando, Florida took home the gold for the Boys 11-13 Division. Lyu finished out the tournament shooting a total of 149 sealed this victory by shooting 75 and 74 for a total of 149. Aaron Zhang of Lake Mary, Florida took home the second place trophy with a total of 149. The third place trophy went to Yuzhe Zhang of Winter Garden, Florida who had a total of 153.     Girls 14-18 Division

Jennifer Zhou of Longwood, Florida took home the gold for the Girls 14-18 division. Zhou finished the weekend strong, which sealed her victory by shooting 67 and 69 for a total of 136. Ellen Dong of Longwood, Florida took home the second place trophy with a 76 for the first round and a 77 for the second round for a total of a 153. The third place trophy went to Naphatsawan Pabsimma of  Thailand who had a total of 153.

Round 2: Low 70, High 96. Fog and Sunny, Wind 10-15 mph

About Hurricane Junior Golf Tour

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intent of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18, and now 10 and under, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of six age divisions: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys U10, Girls 14-18, and Girls U13. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
