HJGT TO HOST EVENT IN THE CHARLOTTE AREA
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) will head to Shelby, North Carolina, just outside of Charlotte, to host the Carolina Fall Challenge at Deer Brook. This two-day tournament will take place at the Deer Brook Golf Club located in beautiful Shelby, NC. This event will feature a plethora of rankings, exemptions, and prizes to spark the competition. The Carolina Fall Challenge at Deer Brook will allow players to earn the two most sought after rankings in the Carolina’s, Tarheel Youth Golf Association Points (TYGA) and South Carolina Junior Golf Association Points (SCJGA). In addition to these points, the top finisher in each division will be granted an automatic bid into the end of the year Tour Championship and the event will be ranked by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard (NJGS). Lastly, the winners will each receive a free pair of Kikkor Golf Shoes. These rankings and prizes are coveted in the world of junior golf and will ensure a weekend full of intense competition. The Carolina Fall Challenge at Deer Brook will take place on the 15th and 16th of September. Over the course of these two days, participants will play a total of thirty-six (36) holes. The format for the event will be stroke play. Players will compete in four separate divisions based on age. The divisions will be Boys 15-18, Girls 15-18, Boys 11-14, and Girls 11-14. Deer Brook Golf Club is located in the rolling foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. The course designers, Brian Lussier and Rick Robbins, crafted this golf course in perfect harmony with this beautiful surrounding landscape. When the designers unveiled their masterpiece, the course received the honor of 4th Best New Golf Course in North Carolina. At its longest, Deer Brook plays 6,950 yards. This makes the course extremely competitive, yet with the many tee sets it is a great venue for golfers of all skill levels. Players should expect to find Deer Brook in perfect condition, with well-maintained fairways and beautifully manicured greens. The challenging course layout and magnificent backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains make for the perfect setting for the Carolina Fall Challenge.

About Us: The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2008 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on tour will compete in one of four age divisions: Boys 15-18, Boys 11-14, Girls 11-14 and Girls 15-18.
