Canongate Series #5
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour will be in Newnan, GA July 19th and 20th for Canongate Series #5. The tournament will be held at White Oak Golf Club-Old Course. Our Canongate tournaments are a unique series because players can earn Canongate points and compete against one another in eight events throughout the year in the Atlanta area. With consistently competitive fields, these events feature some of the best junior golfers with HJGT. The Canongate Series #5 is open to all golfers between the ages of 11-18. At stake during this tournament are Junior Golf Scoreboard Rankings (JGS), AJGA Performance Stars if the respective field sizes are met within each age division, an automatic bid into the 2014 Tour Championship, as well as the top 10 finishers from each division will receive points toward year end honors which include state teams, ALL HJGT teams, and Hurricane Cup Points. This is a two day 36-hole event. The first round will begin on Saturday July 19th with a double tee start running from 12:00PM-2:00PM. The second round, on Sunday, July 20th, will begin with a double tee start at 8:00AM-10:00AM. The registration fee is $160 for Canongate members, $185 for HJGT members, and $215 for non-members. Old Course is a great 18 hole regulation course located at the Canongate On White Oak Golf Course facility in Newnan, GA. The course was designed by Joseph L. Lee/Rocky Roquemore and opened in 1986. The course rating is 73.0 with a slope rating of 135.

About us: The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2008 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of four age divisions: Boys 15-18, Boys 11-14, Girls 11-14 and Girls 15-18. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, New Jersey, Maryland, Mississippi, New York, and Pennsylvania.
