In this week’s Alumni Spotlight of the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT), we are featuring Arkansas Tech men's golfer Bryce Burke. Bryce was named the Great American Conference Male Golfer of the Month! A freshman, Burke did not look like a collegiate newcomer in his first six rounds with the Wonder Boys, with just two of those rounds over par, each by a single stroke. He tied for the low round in his first time on the course in the first round of the GAC Preview at Lake Hefner Golf Club in Oklahoma City, firing a 3-under 69. He followed up with a 73 and 72 to finish with a 2-under 214, good enough for a tie for second and just two shots out of first place. Over 90 players competing representing 16 colleges in the Midwest Conference Division Bryce led his team to third place overall! The Johannesburg, South Africa native followed that up with an even more impressive performance at the 17th Annual Northeastern State Classic at Hillcrest Country Club in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. A 1-over 72 in Monday's first round put Burke in a pack of golfers a few shots behind the leader, but he answered with a 1-under 70 Monday afternoon to get himself in contention. A 3-under 68 Tuesday catapulted him to comfortable victory, with his 3-under 210 total five strokes better than any competitor. The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour wishes Bryce the best of luck with the rest of his career and all his future endeavors. We are very proud!
