The Bluffton Jr. Open will mark the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour’s third visit to Bluffton, SC in the 2013 season alone. Bluffton serves as an ideal golfing location for the tour, situated on the east coast of South Carolina close by the extravagant Hilton Head Island. The event will be ranked by the Junior Golf Scoreboard and have numerous incentives at stake for junior golfers. Such incentives will include four AJGA performance stars for the champion of the boy’s and girl’s 15-18 age division. The boy’s 11-14 champion will be awarded 1 performance star (if field exceeds 19 players). The champion from each of the aforementioned divisions (boy’s 1-14, 15-18, and girl’s 15-18) will also earn one exemption into a Florida Junior Tour (FJT) event. The top 10 will earn valuable points which will play a vital role at the conclusion of the season towards the race for year end honors, state teams, all HJGT teams, and the inaugural season of the Hurricane Cup. Each division winner will receive an automatic bid into the 2013 Tour Championship. Tournament format will consist of the following: two-day, 36 hole, double tee, with rounds to be played Saturday and Sunday. Registration will take place between 11:30AM-1:30PM on Saturday. Double tee times will span from 12:30-2:30PM Saturday and 7:30-9:30AM on Sunday. The awards ceremony will succeed play on Sunday. The host course is set as the Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton, SC. Crescent Pointe Golf Club holds a number of highly touted accolades, such accolades include “2010 Golf Course of the Year” and “2011 Superintendent of the Year” by Low Country Golf Course Owners Association to name a few. Designed by Arnold Palmer this course is a favorite in the area and the only course designed by the golf legend in the region. The course is described as having “generous fairways, but challenging approaches” replete with undulating greens and beach bunkers.

About us: The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2008 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of four age divisions: Boys 15-18, Boys 11-14, Girls 15-18 and Girls 11-14.
