In this month's edition of the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour Alumni Spotlight, we are proud to feature South Carolina Gamecocks sophomore Keenan Huskey! In the fall portion of South Carolina's season, the underclassmen led his team in events and rounds played (five and 15), co-led in top-10 finishes (two), and most notably has a victory to his name at the Camden Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 24-25. The Greenville, S.C., native also recorded three consecutive rounds in the 60s at Camden en route to leading the Gamecocks to a 25-stroke team victory. His efforts thus far have propelled him to No. 115 in the Feb. 22 Golfweek NCAA men’s individual ranking and No. 178 in the Feb. 22 World Amateur Golf Ranking. Before Huskey made a name for himself in the SEC, he was honing his golf game on the HJGT. [caption id="attachment_19863" align="aligncenter" width="187"]
Huskey was a top-five machine on the HJGT, tallying six, including a win at the 2009 Furman University Junior Shootout[/caption] In six HJGT events, Huskey has finished in the top five each time, including a victory at the 2009 Furman University Junior Shootout. Most recently in 2013, Huskey finished in a tie for second place at the Upstate Junior Classic and in fifth at the Greenwood Junior Challenge Keenan is not the only member of the Huskey family to compete on the HJGT. Younger sister, Victoria, finished in first place in the Girls 15-18 division at the 2014 Greenville Junior Shootout. In 2013, Victoria also took first place in the Girls 15-18 division at the Golden Bear Junior Challenge and tallied two more runner-up finishes on the season. Victoria has committed to play golf collegiately for the College of Charleston beginning in the fall of 2016. The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour wishes Keenan and Victoria the best of luck in the rest of their golfing careers!
