The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour Alumni Spotlight is proud to feature former Florida Atlantic University golfer, Chip Hoch.
Hoch’s success started as a junior golfer in his tournaments with the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour in 2010 and 2011. He continued his achievements in college and was lucky enough to play professionally in the 2013-2014 season.
In 2010, Chip played in 10 tournaments with nine Top-10 finishes. His best events included the Golden Isles Junior Open, the Mystic Dunes Junior Open, the Tampa Bay Junior Open, the Central Florida Junior Classic, and the HJGT Tour Championship in which he placed T2, 1st, 2nd, 4th, and T2 in each tournament, respectively. He ended the season on a high note as he won his age division for the then Boys 16-19 Division.
His next season was short, but sweet as he played two tournaments in 2011. He tied for 5th at the JWU Series at Amelia National and placed second at the Gainesville Junior Shootout.
He went on to play college golf at FAU for the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 seasons where he played 25 rounds for a scoring average of 77, his lowest rounds being 70 (’11-’12) and 73 (‘12-‘13). After his 2013 season, he transferred to the University of Central Florida where he played professionally for a year, placing in the Top-5 in three out of four events.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour is excited to see the successes of our once junior golfers, like Chip, not only play in college, but professionally as well.
