The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour Alumni Spotlight is proud to feature UNC Asheville golfer Adelyn Deery.
Deery was very successful as a junior golfer in her tournaments with the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour, playing as a member in 2014 and 2015.
In 2014, Deery played in two events with the HJGT. She began the season at the College Prep Series at Penn State, where she finished in 9th place. Later, Deery competed in the Major Championship at Makefield Highlands, in Yardley, Pennsylvania, where her two birdies and scoring average of 82 helped her place 9th.
In 2015, Deery played in three events with the HJGT. Each tournament brought high competition, and her perseverance helped her become successful. To start the season, she played in the College Prep Series at Penn State where she tied for 6th place. Next, Deery tied for 10th in the Nemacolin Junior Open that was held in Farmington, Pennsylvania. Her best finish of the season came at the Major Championship at Makefield Highlands, where she tied for 2nd.
Deery just finished a successful sophomore year at UNC Asheville, in which she was one of two to record first-ever sub-par round at the college. She competed in all 10 events for her team and finished in the top 25 (individually) four times. At the end of her sophomore year season, she had a 78.28 scoring average that was 2.72 strokes better than her rookie season.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour wishes Adelyn Deery the best of luck in the rest of her golf career!
