Louisville Jr. Challenge May 11-12

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour made its first ever trip to Kentucky last week for the College Prep Series at UK. The event was very well received and therefore the HJGT is excited to make another trip to Kentucky this May for the Louisville Jr. Challenge. The event will take place at the exquisite Oxmoor Country Club in Louisville. The event will be ranked by the junior golf scoreboard. Points towards the Hurricane Cup and All-HJGT teams will be up for grabs and will be handed out to the top 10 players in each division. Winners in all four divisions will receive an automatic bid to the 2013 Tour Championship. The winners of the boy’s and girl’s 15-18 divisions will receive four performance stars for the AJGA provided that there are 40 or more players in the boy’s division and 12 or more in the girls. The boy’s 11-14 division champion will receive one performance star if there are 20 or more players in the division. The tournament format will be single tee 36-hole stroke play. Registration will take place between 11:00AM-2:00PM on Saturday. The first round tee times will run between 12:00PM-3:00PM and the second round tee times will run from 8:00AM-11:00PM with an awards ceremony following play on Sunday. The top 3 in each division will receive trophies with supplemental gifts handed out for honors such as most improved and most birdies. The Oxmoor Country Club, managed by Richard Schmitt, is a beautiful course located in the heart of Louisville. The course is 6,900 yards from the farthest tees and is truly a fun challenge to play.

  About us: The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2008 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 11-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Golfers who participate on the tour will compete in one of four age divisions: Boys 15-18, Boys 11-14, Girls 15-18 and Girls 11-14. Based out of Jacksonville, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the nation, with stops in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, and Ohio.
