HJGT Heads to Myrtle Beach
Myrtle Beach, SC (Sept. 29-30)- The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) will take a trip up to Myrtle Beach, SC to host the Myrtle Beach Jr. Challenge. The tournament will be held on the West Course of Myrtle Beach National course. Up for grabs in this tournament is a free pair of Kikkor shoes to the winner in each division. The winners in every division receive an automatic bid to the year-end Tour Championship, as well as South Carolina Junior Golf Association Heritage Points (SCJGA), and the event will be ranked by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard (NJGS). The Myrtle Beach Jr. Challenge is a two day event under stroke play format. Each day players will play eighteen (18) holes of golf, to make for a thirty-six (36) hole tournament in total. There will be four separate divisions for competition. Players will be put in divisions based on age and the divisions will be as follows: Boys 15-18, Girls 15-18, Boys 11-14, and Girls 11-14. The West Course at Myrtle Beach National is a challenging yet aesthetically pleasing course. Designed by legendary golfer/architect Arnold Palmer, West Course offers a scenic environment that includes towering pines and pristine wetlands that make for an enjoyable round. West Course presents golfers with a series of tight doglegs, yawning bunkers and natural water hazards en route to the well-manicured greens.
