May Players of the Month
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour is proud to be sponsored by Bobby Grace Putters. Throughout the year players are afforded the opportunity to win a free putter by becoming the Player of the Month. One player in each division will be chosen to receive this prestigious award. Winners will take home a brand new Bobby Grace Putter and head cover. Each putter is customized with the official logo of the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. Players who receive this prize can be assured that they are taking home one of the best putters used in golf today. This month, in the Boys 15-18 Division, the player of the month is Payton Taylor of Vero Beach, Florida. Taylor ran away with the victory at the HJ Glove Jr. Open at Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Bluffton, SC. Taylor was tied for the lead after day one, at one under par, but was the only player to go under par on day two carding a 69 to finish -3 (139). Taylor led the field in birdies with 7, par 3 performance (2.80), most pars or better at 88.9% and par breakers at 19.4%. Taylor is very well deserving of this award after his stellar 8 stroke victory at the very difficult Crescent Pointe Golf Course. In the Girls 15-18 Division Alessandra Kutz of Sanford, Florida is the Bobby Grace Putter Player of the Month. Kutz participated in, and won the College Prep Series at UF, on May 5-6th. Kutz came out on fire and nearly turned in a flawless round on day one. A bogey on the par 3- 6th, was the only blemish on Kutz’s card. That bogey was easily wiped out with 4 birdies on Kutz’s way to a 3 under 67. Kutz did not have as easy of a day on Sunday. Kutz was able to work around the golf course and turn in a 76 for a one stroke victory finishing at +3 (143). Kutz led the field in par 4 performance (4.2) and was near the top in just about every category. Congratulations to Alessandra Kutz for being named the Bobby Grace Putters Player of the Month. The Boys 11-14 Division player of the month is Hunter Dunagan of Martinez, Georgia. Dunagan continues to impress in 2012, picking up two more wins in May to total wins to 6 in just 9 tournaments on the 2012 campaign. At the College Prep Series at UF, Dunagan came out hot and shot a two under 70. Dunagan did not cool down much on day two, carding a 73 for a total of -1 (143) for the tournament. Dunagan had an amazing total of 10 birdies to lead the field. Dunagan also led the field in par breakers (27.8%) and most pars or better at 80.6%. Dunagan also competed at the HJ Glove Junior Open at Crescent Pointe Golf Club and earned win number two on the month. Dunagan was extremely consistent, leading the field with 30 pars, including 16 straight at one point on day two. Dunagan finished with a two day total of 145 (+3). Dunagan again led the field in a multitude of categories. Dunagan led in par 4 performance (4.0), par 5 performance (5.12) and most pars or better at 88.9% Congratulations to Hunter Dunagan, for once again becoming the Bobby Grace Putters Player of the Month. In the Girls 11-14 Division, Ragan Bailey of Waynesboro, Georgia, takes home this month’s Bobby Grace Putter award. Bailey competed in and won the Kikkor Golf Series at Bartram Trail on May 12-13th. Bailey went into day two with a one shot lead after posting an 82 on day one. Bailey pulled away on day two pilling up 4 birdies on way to carding a 76. Bailey’s two day total of +14 (158) earning a 5 shot victory. Bailey led the field in multiple categories including birdies (4), par breakers (11.1%), par 3 performance (3.3), and par 4 performance (4.5). Congratulations to Regan Bailey on taking home this month’s Bobby Grace Putters Player of the Month.
