3rd Annual Academy Cup

(October 8-9, 2016)

On Thursday, October 6th, 2016, the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour traveled to Celebration, FL to host the 3rd Annual Academy Cup at Celebration Golf Club. As hurricane Mathew came barreling toward Florida on Friday, October 7th, coaches and staff were still motivated to put on one of the biggest tournaments of the 2016 season. Sunshine was abundant but wind was a factor in the first round, October 8th, with temperatures reaching mid 80s. The HJGT would like to thank the Celebration Golf Club staff for allowing us to host our tournament at a great venue. Important factors that were at risk for the players were; the top 10 finishers received points towards year end honors which include state teams, ALL HJGT teams and Junior Golf Scoreboard Rankings (JGS), AJGA stars for Boys 14-18 and girls 14-18, plus winners in each division will receive an exemption into the 2016 National Championship December 3-4, 2016. Once that first tee shot sored through the air, the golfers were ready to put their clubs to the ball and make their mark on the course.
