It is a privilege and an honor to be named on the All HJGT Team. The top 3 in the HJGT point’s standings are the only ones who qualify for such a team and with a membership base of over 1500, becoming one of the select few who qualify for such an achievement is quite the accomplishment. The HJGT offers AJGA exemptions to the Player of the Year for the 15-19 Boys division, 14-18 Girls division, and the 13-14 Boys division. For the whole year, these players have played in numerous tournaments, played against tough competition, and doing all they can to earn as many points as possible. It has been a long and hard fight for these outstanding players but all the hard work is rewarded at the end of the year with becoming part of the All HJGT Team. Starting with our 15-19 Boys division, Logan Lanier from St. Augustine, FL is our Player of the Year for 2011 and has earned an AJGA exemption. Lanier this year on the tour has played phenomenal with 10 Top 10 finishes, 8 Top 5 finishes, 5 second place finishes and winning the Wilmington Island Junior Open. Lanier’s scoring average for the year was 74.14. Lanier’s Par 5 performance was out of this world, compiling a 5 under total for the year. Lanier this year also had 3 rounds in the 60’s. Next on the All HJGT Team is Osborn Theam from Jacksonville, FL. Theam had two wins this year at the HJ Glove Junior Open and the Hilton Head Junior Open, not to mention a couple of second place finishes and 7 Top 5 finishes. Theam’s scoring average for the year was 74.38. Osborn had 2 rounds in the 60’s for the year. Mathew Smith from Wantagh, NY rounds out our All HJGT Team for the 15-19 Boys. Smith had two first place finishes at the Major Championship at Jekyll and Amelia Island Junior Classic this year and 9 Top 10 finishes throughout the year. Smith’s scoring average was a 75.42 for the year. Moving on to our Girls 14-18 division, Eunice Yi from Evans, GA was named the Player of the Year for 2011 and earns an AJGA exemption. Yi had an incredible year with 5 first place finishes which came at the Bluffton Junior Open, Columbia Junior Challenge, Forest Hills Junior Open, North Georgia Junior Open, and at the Furman University Jr. Shootout to lead all competitors in Yi’s division. To go along with Yi’s first place finishes, Yi had 10 Top 5 finishes in 2011, which also was tops in the girls 14-18 division. Yi had a scoring average of 77.04. Yi also leads the division with the most birdies for the year, with 42. Next for the All HJGT Team for the 14-18 Girls is Momo Sakuragi from Tokyo, Japan. Sakuragi had an impressive season with 3 first place finishes at the Hilton Head Jr. Open, Amelia Island Junior Classic and the Palmetto Dunes Jr. Challenge. An even more impressive stat is that Sakuragi never placed worst than 4th in any one tournament (6 total). Sakuragi had a scoring average of 75.33 for the year. Kaeli Jones from Sumterville, FL rounds off the All HJGT Team for the 14-18 Girls division. Jones had 6 top 10 finishes during the 2011 season, 3 of which were 2nd place finishes. Jones’ scoring average for the year was 83.50. In the 13-14 Boys division, Zack Zediker from Gray, GA is our Player of the Year and earns an AJGA exemption. Zediker had 5 first place finishes, winning 4 out the last 5 he played in the finish the year off strong. Zediker had 7 Top 5 finishes also for the year. Zediker’s scoring average for the year was a 79.76. Zediker was Top 5 in the division with 27 birdies this year. Benjamin Shipp from Duluth, GA didn’t go down without a fight over the Player of the Year award to make the All HJGT Team. Benjamin had a great year with 5 straight wins in his first 5 tournaments. Shipp’s Par 5 performance was -3 for the year. Shipp had a scoring average of 73.75 for the year, Top 5 in the 13-14 Boys division. Thomas Burnett from Ponte Vedra Beach, FL rounds off our All HJGT Team for the 13-14 Boys division. Burnett had 2 wins and 9 Top 10 finishes during the 2011 tour, which was the best in the division. Burnett’s scoring average for the year was an 82.50. Brandon Mancheno from Jacksonville, FL is the Player of the Year and leads us off in the All HJGT Team for the 10-12 Boys Division. Mancheno is a great example of what an HJGT All Team player looks like with 5 first place finishes, which lead his division, and all 7 finishes finishing in no worse than second place. Mancheno had the best scoring average for the 10-12 Boys, with a 75.00. Mancheno also lead the field with the most birdies, 29, for the year. Mancheno also was ranked highest in Par 4 Performance, with a 4.27 average. Second on the All HJGT Team in this division is Julien Paltrineri from Casier, Italy. Paltrineri had 3 first place finishes and did not finish any worse than third at any tournament. Paltrineri’s scoring average of 77.25 was second only to Brandon Mancheno. Paltrineri’s had the best Par 5 Performance, with an average of 5.00. Rounding off the Boys 10-12 All HJGT Team is Martin Jarmillo from Bradenton, FL. Jarmillo had 6 Top 5 finishes in the 6 tournaments played in. Jarmillo’s scoring average was 79.17 for the year. Ella Woods from St. Augustine, FL starts off our All HJGT Team for the 10-13 Girls division Player of the Year. While playing, Woods finished her 5 events in this division in first place all but one time. Woods’ 4 first place finishes was most in the division also. Woods’ scoring average of 79.80 was Top 3. Woods 4.53 on Par 4 performance was second best in Woods’ division while Woods’ 5.29 Par 5 performance was Top 3. Next on the All HJGT Team is Julianna Collett from St. Simons Island, GA. Collett had 2 wins this year and at each event finished in the Top 3, which ranked second within the division. Collett was Top 10 in Par 5 performance with a 5.73 and Par 3 performance with a 3.45. Rounding off the All HJGT Team for the 10-13 Girls division is Abby Burditt from St. Augustine, FL. 7 of Burditt’s 8 tournaments she played in, she finished in the Top 5. Burditt finished Top 10 in birdies for the year, with 5. These players worked hard to earn this honor and the HJGT staff would like to congratulate all the players on the All HJGT Team and all of their accomplishments this year.
