Boys 15-18

A windy start greeted the field on Saturday. Ten players finished within 5 strokes of the Boys 15-18 lead entering the final round, with Parker Langham alone on the top after a one-under par, 71. With Austin Mancilla, Jake Milanowski, and Parker Langham all making the turn at even par the back nine, Sunday would prove to be the difference in deciding the champion. With Jake Milanowski and Parker Langham both going over par, Austin Mancilla’s bogey free, 2-under back nine on Sunday would catapult him to the Canongate #8 victory. Mancilla would tie Daniel Fienemann of Peachtree City in Pars or better with 29 while Jake Milanowski would lead with the most birdies (10). Mancilla’s win is his first on tour and earns him a spot in the 2014 Tour Championship in Orlando, FL. Boys 11-14

Carson Whitton would claim the victory for the 11-14 Boys Division after closing with a 74 on Sunday following an opening round of a 1 over par 73 on Saturday. Erik Forberg and Preston Topper both shot a total tournament score of 149, each collecting a second place trophy. While Forberg lead both rounds in birdies with a total of 7 for both days, Whitton followed with 6, and Topper claimed 5 to round out the tournament. Forberg and Topper would finish two shots back of Whitton to finish in a tie for 2nd place. Statistically, the deciding factor in winning the tournament came down to the number of double-bogeys scored. The winner, Whitton, finished the tournament with zero, whereas Forberg and Topper shot 2 and 3 double bogeys respectively. Regardless, it was a well-fought battle to the end, but Whitton came out victorious. Girls 15-18
